The entire car was recently repainted (<3 years ago) with some very nice paint, however, the spoiler is cracking. I'm pretty sure it's still structurally sound with no rotting, but it definitely needs repainted. Is it possible that since the car was from San Diego that they didn't use a separate type of paint for the foam, and since the temperature didn't drop very low it just didn't crack? The car was moved here in April, and did fine all summer. As soon as it started getting cold the cracking started, and now it's just terrible. Since it only happened on the spoiler I assumed that the spoiler was contracting with the cold, causing the cracking with the brittle paint. Any of this sound right? And on to my real question- does any body shop/ paint shop know what paint to use on the foam? Is it going to be tough to make it look good now?
